Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain terms, what Work Hours Calculator does and does not do with the information you type into its calculators. The short version: every calculation runs in your own browser, nothing you type into a time-in, time-out, hours or pay-rate field is sent to a server, and the only data this site collects is aggregate, anonymous visit information.

What the calculators do with your input

The work hours calculator, add up work hours, payroll hours calculator and time card calculator all run entirely as JavaScript in your browser. When you type a clock-in time, a clock-out time, a break length, a daily hours total or an hourly pay rate into a field, that value is used immediately by code running on your own device to compute a result. It is never transmitted to this site's servers, logged, or stored anywhere outside your browser.

Your entries are saved to your browser's local storage so the table is still filled in if you refresh the page or come back later to finish a week. Local storage is a standard browser feature, similar to a cookie but not sent over the network with every request; it stays on your device until you clear it, either through your browser's own settings or by using the Reset button on the calculator itself, which clears that calculator's saved values immediately.

The feedback button

Each calculator page has a small "was this tool helpful" feedback control. Clicking a thumbs-up or thumbs-down sends a single anonymous signal to this site's server: which tool you rated, and whether you clicked up or down. No clock time, hours total, pay rate, or anything else you entered into a calculator is included in that signal, and no cookie, IP address, or device fingerprint is stored alongside it. A flag is saved in your browser's local storage afterward so you are not asked to vote again on a later visit; that flag never leaves your device.

If you use the "Send feedback" link instead, it opens your own email application with a pre-filled address and subject line. Anything you choose to write and send in that email is handled the same way as any other email you send, and is not automated or tracked by this site.

Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service that reports only aggregate figures such as total visits, popular pages, referring sites and country-level location. It does not track individuals across visits or across other websites, and does not read or receive anything you type into a calculator field, because that data never reaches this site's server in the first place. This site does not display advertising.

What this site does not do

This site does not require an account, a sign-up, or a login for any calculator. It does not ask for your name, your employer, your email address, or any other personal information to use any tool. It does not sell data, because it does not collect the kind of data that would be sellable in the first place: your clock times, hours and pay rate stay in your browser, not on a server.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience reference tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the calculators do not ask for a name, email address, or any other identifying information, and calculator inputs never leave your browser, there is no personal information collected from any user, regardless of age, beyond the anonymous, non-identifying feedback signal described above.

Changes to this policy

If the way this site handles data changes, for example by adding a new feature that requires sending information to a server, this page will be updated to describe it accurately before that feature goes live. Checking back here periodically is the way to stay current, since no separate notification list exists.

No. Your clock-in/out times, hours and pay rate are used only in your own browser to calculate a result, and are saved only in your browser's local storage so the table stays filled in between visits. They are never sent to a server.
